Our Favorite Gifts of the Season

It’s been a crazy year for the Crawford’s. We’ve been saying 2010 is Opposite Year, because we turned our comfy Colorado life upside down to move to Raleigh. It’s also been a year of financial upheaval and new career beginnings for both of us. We made the decision early to skip Christmas presents this year. Even though underneath the tree is still bare, we have more gifts than we could have possibly hoped for.

First to my wife, Dawn (@dawnacrawford), you’ve been my partner, cheerleader, and my rock. We’ve had some trying times over these past seven months and, if anything, it’s brought us even closer together. You’re my everything. I love you.

To Beck (@10ch), I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. You made us feel at home before we moved. You’re kind, warm, genuine, smarty-pants, and a huge inspiration for us. We count ourselves lucky to be your friends.

To Patrick (@wordfarm) and Josh (not on social media, the horror!), thank you for being our connection back to Colorado. We miss you guys and wish we could move our friends out here with us.

To Andre (@mindofandre), you’ve had our back since we moved. We can’t thank you enough and look forward to a big 2011 with you.

To Deb & Alex (@anorocagency), another friend we made before we moved, it’s only gotten better since we’ve moved. You guys constantly inspire us and we love learning from you.

To Brianne (@briannevillano), thank you being the best doggie sitter ever and a friend to puppies everywhere. Herman asks about you all the time.

To Mandy (@demandycom) and Becca (@thegourmez) thanks for being my cohorts in Social Media Supper Club greatness. I’m looking forward to our next yummy outing.

To Mary (@mary_eats) and Jad (@jadbean) and the foodie crew, we’ve shared some tasty food and pretty damn geeky conversation. Here’s to even more in 2011.

To Beth Beck (@bethbeck) and Stephanie (@schierholz) for organizing the NASA tweetup. Seeing a space shuttle launch was a totally amazing once-in-a-lifetime experience. I can’t thank you enough for making it the best thing ever for this space nerd.

To Erik Proulx (@eproulx) for following your passion beyond your comfort zone and making something beautiful in Lemonade. Thank you for inspiring me and others to rethink what’s possible.

Each and every one of you have touched our lives in the past year and we thank you for everything you do. Here’s hoping you have a wonderful holiday season and a wonderful 2011!
